It used to work, but I now cannot get my HP DeskJet 2622 to connect to my computer so that it will print, either through wireless or a direct connection. Any advice?

Hi @Citybob,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP DeskJet 2622 printer, here are some steps you can try to get it reconnected to your MacBook Pro:
1. Restart Devices
- Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- MacBook Pro: Restart your laptop.
2. Check WiFi Connection
- Ensure your printer is connected to the same WiFi network as your MacBook Pro.
- On the printer's control panel, print a network configuration page to confirm the WiFi settings.
3. Re-add the Printer on MacBook Pro
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Click the + button to add a printer.
- Select your HP DeskJet 2622 from the list. If it doesn't appear, make sure your printer is turned on and connected to the network.
- If the printer is still not listed, try removing any existing printer entries by selecting them and clicking the - button, then try adding it again.
4. Update Printer Software
- Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers and software for your HP DeskJet 2622.
- Install the downloaded software and follow the setup instructions.
5. Reset Printer Settings
- On the printer, perform a factory reset if possible. This can often be done through the settings menu or by holding down specific buttons (refer to the printer manual).
6. Check for Chrome OS Updates
- Go to Settings on your Chrome OS device and check for updates. Ensure that your Chrome OS is up-to-date.
7. Use HP Smart App
- Download the HP Smart app from the Chrome Web Store.
- Follow the instructions in the app to set up your printer and ensure it is connected to your network.
8. Check Cable Connections (For Direct Connection)
- If using a USB connection, ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and the MacBook Pro.
- Try using a different USB port or cable if available.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
