Hi @Lvu,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
To address the issue with installing your HP OfficeJet Pro 9018, I need a few details.
- Installation Method: Are you trying to install the printer using a USB connection or a wireless network?
- Error Messages: Are you encountering any specific error messages during the installation process?
- Software: Have you downloaded and installed the latest drivers and software from the HP website?
- Printer Status: Is the printer turned on and properly connected to your network or computer?
- Operating System: What operating system are you using on your computer (e.g., Windows 10, Windows 11, macOS)?
- Network Connection: If installing wirelessly, is the printer and computer connected to the same Wi-Fi network?
Try the following below.
Download the Latest Software:
- Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers and software for the HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 that matches your operating system.
Restart Devices:
- Restart your computer and printer. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source for 60 seconds, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
Check Network Connection:
- Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network. You can check this on the printer's control panel by going to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings.
Please find the remaining steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Lvu,
Please find the remaining steps below.
Use HP Smart App:
- Download and install the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store or Mac App Store. Open the app, select Set Up a New Printer, and follow the on-screen instructions.
Install via USB:
- If installing via USB, connect the printer directly to your computer using a USB cable. The operating system should recognize the printer, and the installation should proceed automatically.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP Support website. This tool can diagnose and fix common installation issues.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Ensure that your operating system is up-to-date by checking for and installing any available Windows updates.
Check Printer Settings:
- Verify that any security settings or firewall on your computer are not blocking the installation. Temporarily disable the firewall or antivirus software if needed and try the installation again.
These steps should help you with the installation of your HP OfficeJet Pro 9018.
If the issue persists after trying these steps, let's try a Semi-full reset.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instructions to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
