my OS system doesn't show up on your list. I don't know what a board is. I just want to connect my new wifi address to my printer

I'm not tech savvy. you're speaking a different language to me.  Nothing on that list said anything about wifi.

Hi @mariegab,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Let’s keep it simple. Here’s how you can connect your HP OfficeJet 5255 to a new Wi-Fi network.

  • Turn on the Printer: Make sure your printer is turned on.
  • Access the Control Panel: On the printer’s control panel, press the Wireless icon. This usually looks like a signal icon.
  • Open Wireless Settings: Select Wireless Settings or Settings from the menu.
  • Select Wi-Fi Setup: Choose Wi-Fi Setup Wizard. The printer will search for available networks.
  • Choose Your Network: From the list of available networks, select your new Wi-Fi network.
  • Enter Password: Enter the password for your Wi-Fi network. Use the on-screen keyboard to type it in.
  • Confirm Connection: Once you’ve entered the password, confirm to connect.
  • Print a Network Configuration Page (Optional): You can print a network configuration page to verify the printer is connected to the new Wi-Fi network. This option is usually available in the wireless settings menu.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
