I have Envy 5530 about 10 years old . Getting blue error message B300004 then all icon lights go flashing

The B300004 error on your HP Envy 5530 printer, along with flashing icon lights, usually indicates a hardware failure or firmware issue

 

Since your printer is about 10 years old, some fixes may be limited, but here are a few things to try:

 

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • If the error persists, move to the next step.

2. Remove & Reinsert Ink Cartridges

  • Open the printer and remove all ink cartridges.
  • Unplug the printer again for 30 seconds.
  • Reinsert the cartridges and restart the printer.

3. Check for Firmware Updates

  • If the printer still functions enough to access settings, check for firmware updates via HP’s support page.

4. Try a Factory Reset

  • If possible, navigate to Setup → Printer Maintenance → Restore Defaults.
  • If the printer won’t respond, a manual reset may be required.
