HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e All-in-One Printer

My laptop is not talking to my printer.  We had an internet upgrade, and everything is working except my laptop to my printer.  I had another HP Printer which this printer replaced.  The old one is still being found by the network, although it has been disconnected for over a month.  The network will not find my new printer from my laptop......it does from my cell phone, though.  How do I get rid of the old printer, first of all, and then what do I do to make my Dell laptop talk to my new printer again?

Hi @kskepi1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

On Windows:

  • Open Settings from the Start menu.
  • Navigate to Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Locate your old printer in the list, click on it, and select Remove Device.

On macOS:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your old printer from the list and click on the minus (-) button to remove it.

Connecting Your Laptop to the New Printer

Ensure Wi-Fi Connectivity:

  • Make sure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop. You might need to reconnect your printer to the network after the upgrade.
  • Follow the instructions on the printer's control panel to connect it to your Wi-Fi network.

Reinstall the Printer Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for the HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e.
  • Install the drivers on your laptop following the on-screen instructions.

Add the Printer on Your Laptop:

For Windows:

  • Go back to Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Click Add a printer or scanner and wait for your printer to appear in the list.
  • Select your printer and choose Add Device.

For macOS:

  • Navigate again to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Click on the plus (+) button to add a new printer.
  • Look for your HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e and add it to the list.

Test the Connection:

  • Print a test page to ensure your laptop can communicate with the printer.

Additional Troubleshooting Steps

  • Restart Devices: Try restarting your router, printer, and laptop.
  • Check Firewall Settings: Ensure that your firewall or antivirus settings are not blocking the printer.
  • Use HP Smart App: Sometimes using the HP Smart App can help establish the connection more easily.

I hope this helps.
