Hi @JImko711,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Ensure Printer is Properly Connected:

  • Verify the physical connection between your printer and computer.
  • If using Wi-Fi, make sure the printer is connected to the same network as your PC.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support website and enter your printer model (HP5255).
  • Download the latest drivers and software available.
  • Install the downloaded drivers following the on-screen instructions.

Use HP Support Assistant:

  • Install HP Support Assistant: If it is not already installed on your PC, download it from HP Support Assistant.
  • Run HP Support Assistant: Open the application and navigate to your printer. This software will help you diagnose connectivity issues and update drivers.

Check Printer Status:

  • Open HP Support Assistant or your printer software to check the printer’s status and run any recommended troubleshooting tools.

Restart Devices:

  • Sometimes simply restarting your printer and computer can resolve connectivity issues.

Firmware Update:

  • Ensure the printer firmware is up to date. Firmware updates can be found on the HP Support website under your printer model.

I hope this helps.
