Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

HP OfficeJet Pro 9012e All-in-One Printer

After an automatic firmware upgrade to 2450B last December, my printer no longer connects via WLAN. The factory reset did not change anything. Since then I've been using a USB connection and that still works fine, but now I want to move the printer to another room and wifi will be vital again.

I have tried downgrading the firmware as I have kept an old version (2313A) in case I might need it for problems like this.

Unfortunately, the printer will not accept a “downgrade” even though I have an older firmware available.

I don't know if downgrading will solve the problem, but I'm really disappointed that HP is preventing me from trying.

Is there any way to get the printer to accept older firmware versions?

@Andy5553, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your an issue with WLAN connection!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Use the touchscreen to restore Wi-Fi setup mode.

  • On the printer control panel, touch the Setup icon or Wireless icon .
  • Select Network setup or Settings, and then select Restore Network Settings

Example of selecting Restore Network Settings on a touchscreen control panel

  • a confirmation prompt displays, touch Yes.
  • Wait 60 seconds until the Wireless light blinks blue.
  • Within two hours, return to the app or software to find and add your printer and complete the setup.

Please refer to this link for more information.

Also, the only way to downgrade the firmware is to do a semi full reset. Let me know if you need help with that!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
