I changed my printer cartridge on my 4155e printer. I now get a flashing orange light and error message E0. Help please 🙏

The E0 error on your HP 4155e printer typically indicates an unusable cartridge, meaning the printer is detecting an issue with the ink cartridge—whether it's faulty, incorrect, missing, damaged, or incompatible.

Steps to Fix the E0 Error:

 

Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from power.
  • Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Check the Ink Cartridge

  • Open the printer’s cartridge access door.
  • Remove the cartridge and inspect the copper-colored contacts for dust or damage.
  • Reinsert the cartridge firmly and restart the printer.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts

  • Lightly dampen a lint-free cloth with distilled water.
  • Wipe the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge.
  • Clean the electrical contacts inside the printer’s cartridge slot.

Try a Different Cartridge

  • If possible, test with another genuine HP cartridge to see if the issue persists.

Restore Factory Defaults

  • On the printer’s touchscreen, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults.
  • This will erase settings but may resolve the issue.
