Hi @Paulaenp,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
Communication issues between a laptop and a printer, especially on the same Wi-Fi network, can often be resolved with a few troubleshooting steps. Here's a comprehensive guide to help you get your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer working with your laptop:
1. Ensure Both Devices Are on the Same Network:
- Confirm that both your laptop and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Sometimes devices can connect to different networks (e.g., 2.4 GHz vs. 5 GHz bands).
2. Restart Both Devices:
- Restart both your laptop and your printer to refresh their network connections.
3. Check Printer Status:
- Make sure your printer is not in an error state (e.g., low ink, paper jam).
- On the printer's control panel, go to Settings > Network Setup or Wireless Settings to check the Wi-Fi connection status.
4. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. This tool can diagnose and fix many printing and scanning issues.
5. Update Printer Drivers:
Uninstall Existing Printer Drivers:
- Open Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
- Uninstall any HP printer software listed.
Remove Printer Drivers from Device Manager:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Print queues and Printers.
- Right-click your printer and select Uninstall device.
Download and Install the Latest Drivers:
- Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
- Enter your printer model (HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e) and select the appropriate operating system (Windows 11).
- Download and install the full-feature software and drivers.
Kindly check the next steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Paulaenp,
Please find the next steps.
6. Add Printer Using Windows Settings:
- Open Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Click Add a printer or scanner.
- Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e from the list and follow the prompts to add it.
7. Check for Windows Updates:
- Open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates to see if there are any updates, especially related to printer drivers.
- If any updates are found, install them and restart your computer if necessary.
8. Firewall and Antivirus Settings:
- Ensure that your firewall or antivirus software is not blocking the printer connection.
- Temporarily disable your firewall or antivirus software and try to print. If it works, create an exception in your firewall or antivirus software for the printer.
9. Use HP Smart App:
- Download and install the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store.
- Use the app to set up and manage your printer. This app often handles printer connections better and can install necessary drivers automatically.
10. Assign a Static IP Address to the Printer:
- On the printer's control panel, go to Settings > Network Setup > Wireless Settings.
- Print a network configuration page to find the printer's current IP address.
- Open a web browser on your laptop and enter the printer’s IP address in the address bar.
- In the printer’s web interface, navigate to the Network section.
- Assign a static IP address to the printer within your router’s DHCP range but outside the automatic assignment range.
11. Network Reset:
- If none of the above steps work, try resetting the network settings on your printer and reconnecting to your Wi-Fi network:
- On the printer's control panel, go to Settings > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings.
- Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network using the Wireless Setup Wizard.
If you've tried all these steps and the issue persists, there might be a deeper configuration issue with your network or the printer. Contacting HP phone support or your network provider for further assistance could be beneficial.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
