I cannot get the answer to this anywhere, nor have I been able to solve these problems.  I have looked at all of the other questions on the forums and this is what I am encountering:

  • Step 1 Network Restore -
    1) From the printer control panel, touch and slide your finger across the screen, touch Setup, and then touch Network Setup.
    2) Touch Restore Network Defaults, and then touch Yes.

*** In regards to number 2 above, this "Restore Network Defaults" is greyed out on my printer.  And then when I do click on it, the error message is that I am locked out by administrator.  I am the administrator and I never would lock myself out of anything.

Step 2 Reboot the devices -
    1) Turn off the Router, Printer, and the computer.
    2) Wait for 60 seconds.
    3) Turn on the Router first and wait for all the lights to stabilize.
    4) Turn on the printer and allow it to configure itself.
    5) Turn on the computer.

****I've tried this.  It does not work.

Step 3 Run Wireless Wizard -
    1) From the printer control panel display, touch and slide your finger across the screen and then touch Setup.
    2) Touch Network Setup.
    3) Touch Wireless Settings.
    4) Touch Wireless Setup Wizard.
    5) Follow the display instructions to complete the setup.

**** In regards to number 4 above, this "Wireless Setup Wizard" is greyed out on my printer.  And then when I do click on it, the error message that pops up is that I am locked out by the administrator.

I believe I need to change the IP Address on my printer but it will not allow me to.  I have a wireless internet connection specifically for my printer and the printer cannot find it nor recognize it.  I also tried running the HP Print and Scan Doctor and it froze when I ran it.  It went all the way up to 80% completed and then it just stopped working.  I had to reboot.

Hi @Luvly_Laurs

I'd like to help!

We can perform a factory defaults on the printer to resolve the issue

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

I am having the same issue with my HP8620.  Can someone please send me the instructions on how to solve this?  All of my options are locked out by Administrator.

Thank you.
