Like many others, I have been locked out of my HP 8600 when I moved to a new home and different modem/router. "This feature has been locked by the person who set up the printer."  I didn't intentionally lock anything out, so is there a way to manually reset the printer?  The Reset Network Settings option is unavailable as well.

I tried finding the model specific instructions, but to no avail.

Any solution would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

@DC321, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to make changes to the settings on the printer. We need to perform a factory reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
  • In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

I tried the reset instructions you suggested but that didn't work.  Still locked out. Also no private message next to my profile name.
