Hi @ej9r,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you’re having trouble logging into your HP account on your OfficeJet 5255 due to a network or server issue. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this problem.

Check Network Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network. Print a network configuration page from your printer's control panel to check its network status.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart your printer, router, and computer or mobile device to reset network connections.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check if there’s a firmware update available for your printer. Updating the firmware can resolve connectivity issues. You can usually do this via the printer’s control panel or HP Smart app.

HP Smart App Troubleshooting:

  • Make sure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on your device.
  • Try logging into your HP account through the HP Smart app or website on a different device to see if the issue persists.

Clear Browser Cache:

  • If you’re trying to log in through a web browser, clear your browser’s cache and cookies, then try logging in again.

Check HP Account Status:

  • Ensure that your HP account is active and that there are no issues with your account by logging in through a web browser on a computer.

Reset Printer Settings:

  • As a last resort, you can try performing a factory reset on your printer. Be aware that this will erase all network settings and custom configurations.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
