trying to add my wireless printer to my Mac laptop but not able to locate the printer , asking for a wap2? I provided the correct password to network and says to it wrong

The printer only supports 2.4ghz band.  Your Mac is probably at 5 ghz.  You need to connect the printer to the router as it will not connect to the Mac unless you want to run at a lower speed.

 

You may need to reset the printer.  Probably not necessary.
