Macbook says the printer is printing but printer isn't printing

My MacBook Air's dialogue box shows me that it has connected to my printer and then shows the progress until it reaches 100%. Then it informs the printing has completed. In the meantime, my printer is doing nothing. I have already spent over an hour trouble shooting with Apple. There doesn't seem to be a driver for Mac OS Big Sur (the highest it goes is Catalina). Please advise.
