Hi @Vicky080,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP DeskJet 3630 is not connecting to Wi-Fi after changing your router, follow these steps to troubleshoot and reestablish the connection:

1. Reconnect Your Printer to the New Wi-Fi Network

Using the Printer Control Panel:

  1. Power On the Printer: Ensure your HP DeskJet 3630 is turned on.
  2. Access Wireless Setup:
    • Press the Wireless button on the printer. It might look like a signal strength icon.
    • If your printer has a Setup button, press it and select Wireless Setup Wizard or Wi-Fi Setup Wizard from the menu.
  3. Connect to Your New Network:
    • The printer will search for available networks. Select your new Wi-Fi network from the list.
    • Enter your network password when prompted and connect.

Using the HP Smart App:

  • Download and install the HP Smart app from the App Store (for iPhone) or Google Play Store (for Android), or from the HP website.
  • Open the app and tap + or Add Printer.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to the new Wi-Fi network. The app should guide you through the setup process.

2. Restart Devices

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, plug it back in, and turn it on.
  • Unplug the router from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, plug it back in, and allow it to fully restart.
  • Sometimes restarting your computer can help it recognize the printer on the new network.

3. Update Printer Drivers

Windows:

  1. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  2. Select your printer and click Manage.
  3. Click Printer properties and then Update driver.

4. Check Router Settings

  • Ensure that your router is broadcasting a 2.4 GHz network, as many printers do not support 5 GHz networks.
  • Ensure your router’s security settings (WPA/WPA2) are compatible with your printer.
  • Ensure the SSID (network name) of your new router is not hidden.

5. Reset Network Settings on the Printer

  • On your printer’s control panel, go to the settings or setup menu.
  • Look for an option to Reset Network Settings or Restore Network Defaults. This will erase the old network settings and allow you to set up the new network.

6. Reinstall Printer Software

  • Go to the HP support website and download the latest software and drivers for your HP DeskJet 3630.
  • Run the installation file and follow the prompts to set up your printer again, including connecting it to your new Wi-Fi network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I have tried everything and nothings working. Even using a cable to my laptop. I have tried to download software again. When I try and get support it doesn’t recognise the serial number. Is it not possible to get support if your warranty is gone?

I will have to buy a new printer now after hours and hours of wasted time!!
