Hi @eugeneaw, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP DeskJet keeps going offline, try these steps to fix it:

Restart Printer & Devices

  1. Turn off the printer, unplug it for 1 minute, and turn it back on.
  2. Restart your computer and router to refresh connections.

Check Printer Connection

If using Wi-Fi:

  1. Make sure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
  2. Print a Wireless Network Test Report:
    • Press Wi-Fi & Information buttons together.
    • Check if the printer is connected.
  3. If not connected, reconnect the printer:
    • Press & hold Wi-Fi + Cancel until the power light blinks.
    • Use HP Smart app to set it up again.

If using USB:

  • Try a different USB port and cable.

Set Printer to "Online"

  1. Open Control PanelDevices and Printers.
  2. Right-click on your printer and select See what's printing.
  3. Click Printer at the top and Uncheck "Use Printer Offline".

Reinstall Printer Drivers

  1. Uninstall the printer from Control Panel → Devices and Printers.
  2. Go to HP Support and download the latest drivers for your printer.
  3. Reinstall the printer using HP Smart.

Assign a Static IP (Wi-Fi Issues)

  1. Open the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) (Find IP from the Network Test Report).
  2. Go to Network Settings and assign a Static IP.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
