HP Officejet 6700 Premium
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP6700 premium printer is configured correctly to my wifi router (BT Smart Hub) and has always connected perfectly.  My printer is shown in the router list of connected devices . When my neighbour switches his HP8010 printer on I lose my network connection.

My printer display shows IP - no link, Network Name - not applicable, Host Name - HPC1126W, MAC - A01D481C1126 and Wireless Direct - off

The MAC address is correct for my printer

I have so far deleted my printer from my computer and network, factory reset my printer and reinstalled my printer on the network and printer.

I have noticed that my neighbour's printer shows on my printer wifi setup as an available network (Direct-F3-HP Officejet 8010)

As my neighbour is working from home, due to Covid-19  his printer is on during his normal office working hours and this means I have limited access to my printer.

This problem has only occurred since he has started using the HP8010 printer.

I have tried everything to the extent of my knowledge to resolve and am seeking help to sort out before I go and have a chat with him!

any help or guidance will be appreciated

 Hi @Civic247,

I'd like to help!

The direct network is the printer WiFi -Direct network.

Wi-Fi direct is a method that connects your printer directly to your phone or computer using default or an assigned password, the drawback of this type of connection is that you will not be able to access the internet and print at the same time.

To assist better -

  1. What is the status of the wireless light on the printer, steady or blinking?
  2.  I would like to know, is your router set to work on 2.4 GHz network or 5 GHz network band?

To prepare your printer for a wireless connection, restart the printer, computer, and router.

  1. Turn the printer off, and then wait 10 seconds.
  2. Disconnect the printer power cord from the printer.
  3. Turn off the computer or the device you are trying to print from.
  4. Connect the printer power cord to the printer, and then turn on the printer.
  5. Disconnect the power cord from your wireless router, and then wait 10 seconds.
  6. Reconnect the power cord to the router. Wait until Internet service is restored. Internet service is interrupted while the router is off.
  7. Turn on the computer.

Print a configuration page and share the results -

 - On the Home screen, scroll to the right and touch the Setup icon
- Go down one page and select Reports
- Select Network Configuration Page

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
