Hi @Jak42,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 printer prints well from your Windows 11 computer but has stopped printing from your iPhone, it suggests an issue with the iPhone's connectivity or settings rather than the printer itself. Here’s how to troubleshoot.
Check Printer's Wi-Fi Connection
- Make sure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone.
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to Settings > Network Settings > Wireless Settings to verify the connection.
Restart Devices
- Restart your iPhone, printer, and router to resolve temporary glitches.
Ensure AirPrint is Enabled
- The iPhone uses AirPrint to connect with printers. Verify that AirPrint is enabled on the printer:
- Access the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS):
- On a computer or phone connected to the same Wi-Fi network, enter the printer’s IP address (found in the printer’s network settings) in a web browser.
- Look for the AirPrint settings and ensure it is enabled.
- Access the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS):
Re-add the Printer to iPhone
- Remove the Printer:
- Open the iPhone's Settings app.
- Go to Printers & Scanners (or related section in apps like HP Smart).
- Remove the printer if listed.
- Re-add the Printer:
- Open a document or photo on your iPhone.
- Tap the Share button > Print.
- Select Add Printer and choose your OfficeJet Pro 6970.
Update iPhone and Printer Firmware
- iPhone: Go to Settings > General > Software Update and install any updates.
- Printer Firmware:
- Open the HP Smart app on your Windows 11 computer.
- Navigate to Printer Settings > Advanced Settings to check for firmware updates.

Test with HP Smart App
- Download the HP Smart App on your iPhone from the App Store.
- Use the app to print a document and see if the issue persists.
Reset Network Settings on Printer
- Reset the printer's network settings to default:
- On the printer's control panel, go to Settings > Network Settings > Restore Network Settings.
- Reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi and re-add it on your iPhone.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
