Hi @Zainab_Khan,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To troubleshoot the issue with your HP printer not connecting wirelessly or via USB, follow these steps.
Check Printer Status:
- Ensure the printer is powered on and there are no error messages or warning lights on the printer’s display.
Restart Devices:
- Printer: Turn off the printer, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on.
- Laptop: Restart your laptop.
Check Connections:
- USB Connection: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and your laptop. Try using a different USB port or cable if available.
- Wireless Connection: Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop.
Verify Network Settings:
- Printer’s Wireless Settings: Print a network configuration page from the printer’s control panel to check if it is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
- Router: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is working correctly and there are no connectivity issues with your router.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Go to the HP website and download the latest drivers for your printer model. Install them on your laptop.
Reinstall Printer:
- Remove Printer:
- On Windows: Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, select your printer, and click Remove device.
- On Mac: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and click the - button.
- Add Printer:
- On Windows: Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, click Add a printer or scanner, and follow the prompts.

Check Printer’s Wireless Setup:
- Wireless Setup Wizard: On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the wireless settings or network setup and run the wireless setup wizard to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
