Common problems for Connectivity Issues

When I start my printer, it is not either connected to laptop via ports nor connected wirelessly. Help me to solve this problem

To troubleshoot the issue with your HP printer not connecting wirelessly or via USB, follow these steps.

 

Check Printer Status:

  • Ensure the printer is powered on and there are no error messages or warning lights on the printer’s display.

Restart Devices:

  • Printer: Turn off the printer, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on.
  • Laptop: Restart your laptop.

Check Connections:

  • USB Connection: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and your laptop. Try using a different USB port or cable if available.
  • Wireless Connection: Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop.

Verify Network Settings:

  • Printer’s Wireless Settings: Print a network configuration page from the printer’s control panel to check if it is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
  • Router: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is working correctly and there are no connectivity issues with your router.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Go to the HP website and download the latest drivers for your printer model. Install them on your laptop.

Reinstall Printer:

  • Remove Printer:
    • On Windows: Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, select your printer, and click Remove device.
    • On Mac: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and click the - button.
  • Add Printer:
    • On Windows: Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, click Add a printer or scanner, and follow the prompts.
    • On Mac: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, click the + button, and select your printer.

Check Printer’s Wireless Setup:

  • Wireless Setup Wizard: On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the wireless settings or network setup and run the wireless setup wizard to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.
