Hi @Pelts,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To update or enter a new Wi-Fi password into your printer, follow these steps based on common HP printer models. The process generally involves accessing the printer's wireless settings and inputting the new password. Here’s how to do it:

1. Using the Printer's Control Panel

Turn on Your Printer:

  • Ensure your printer is powered on.

Access Wireless Settings:

  • On the printer’s control panel, locate the Wireless or Network icon. It’s typically represented by a signal or wireless symbol.

Open Wireless Setup:

  • Navigate to Wireless Setup Wizard or Network Setup. The name of this option can vary by model.

Select Your Network:

  • The printer will search for available networks. Select your Wi-Fi network from the list of available networks.

Enter New Password:

  • Enter the new Wi-Fi password using the on-screen keyboard. Make sure you input it correctly, as passwords are case-sensitive.

Confirm and Connect:

  • Confirm the settings and allow the printer to connect. The printer should display a message indicating that it’s connected to the network.

2. Using the HP Smart App

Open HP Smart App:

  • Download and open the HP Smart app on your computer or smartphone.

Add Printer:

  • If your printer is not listed, click on Add Printer or + and follow the on-screen instructions.

Configure Wireless Settings:

  • In the app, select your printer and go to Printer Settings or Network Settings.

Update Wi-Fi Network:

  • Choose Change Wi-Fi Settings or Wireless Setup. Follow the prompts to select your network and enter the new Wi-Fi password.

Confirm Connection:

  • The app will guide you through the process of reconnecting your printer to the new network.

3. Using the Printer’s Web Interface (for Network Printers)

Find Printer’s IP Address:

  • Print a network configuration page from the printer’s control panel. The IP address should be listed on this page.

Open Web Browser:

  • Enter the printer’s IP address into the address bar of your web browser and press Enter.

Login:

  • If prompted, enter the administrator credentials. The default username is usually admin, and the password may be admin or left blank. Refer to your printer’s manual for specific login details.

Access Network Settings:

  • Navigate to the Network or Wireless Settings section.

Update Wi-Fi Password:

  • Select Wireless Setup or similar and enter the new Wi-Fi password.

Save Settings:

  • Apply the changes and save the new settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
