Hi @LW1979,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To reconnect your HP printer to the new network, follow these steps.

Restart Devices

  • Restart your printer, router, and computer or mobile device. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.

Connect the Printer to the New Network

For HP Smart App (Recommended):

  1. Download/Update HP Smart: Ensure you have the HP Smart app installed on your computer or mobile device. You can download it from the HP Smart App website or your device’s app store.
  2. Open HP Smart: Open the app and add your printer if it’s not already listed. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your new Wi-Fi network.

Using Printer's Control Panel:

  1. Navigate to Wireless Settings: On the printer's control panel, go to the wireless or network settings menu. This is usually found under "Setup," "Network," or "Wireless."
  2. Select Wireless Setup Wizard: Choose the wireless setup wizard option. Your printer will search for available networks.
  3. Select Your Network: Find and select your new Wi-Fi network from the list.
  4. Enter Network Password: Enter your Wi-Fi network password if prompted.
  5. Confirm and Connect: Follow any remaining prompts to complete the connection.

For Printers Without a Touchscreen:

  1. Use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup): If your router and printer support WPS, press the WPS button on your router. Then, press the WPS button on your printer (or follow the WPS instructions in the printer’s manual) to connect them.

Reinstall Printer Software

On Windows:

  1. Open Settings: Go to "Devices" > "Printers & scanners."
  2. Add Printer: Click "Add a printer or scanner" and follow the prompts to add your printer.

On macOS:

  1. Open System Preferences: Go to "Printers & Scanners."
  2. Add Printer: Click the “+” button and select your printer from the list to add it.

Check Printer Status

  • Print a Network Configuration Page: This can help verify if the printer is connected to the correct network. The option to print this page is usually found in the network settings menu on the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
