Office Jet Pro 8600 "Built in Capabilities"

I have had this printer set up and working fine for several  years.  It is connected to a laptop wirelessly.  The blue wifi indicator is no longer illuminated.  When I attempt to reset it through the menu, it gives me a message stating that " " Built in capabilities have been disabled.  Contact your administrator, or the person that set up the printer"


That would be me...  i made no changes to the system or settings.  I have been unsuccessful getting past that message.  Have tried factory reset, going through the laptop's HP interface, etc.


What do you recomend to turn this function back on?

I understand you are not able to make changes to the settings on the printer. We need to perform a factory reset on the printer to resolve this issue. 

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
