Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

Printer was connected to Wifi for over a year but all of a sudden it stopped. There is no Wifi icon or network option to select on the printer display panel. I reset back to the factory settings and unplugged it from the power source  but still can not get this function back.

Hi @Rocky9991,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear about the connectivity issues with your HP OfficeJet 8015e printer. Let's work through some steps to restore the Wi-Fi functionality.

Restore Network Settings:

Since you've already performed a factory reset and power cycle, let's ensure the network settings are properly restored:

  1. Access Network Setup:
    • On the printer's control panel, tap the Setup icon.
    • Navigate to Network Setup
  2. Restore Network Settings:

This should reset the network configurations and may bring back the Wi-Fi icon

Reconnect to Wi-Fi

After restoring network settings:

  1. Wireless Setup Wizard:
    • Return to Network Setup.
    • Select Wireless Settings.
    • Choose Wireless Setup Wizard.

  2. Connect to Your Network:
    • From the list of available networks, select your Wi-Fi network.
    • Enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted.

This process should re-establish the wireless connection.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thanks for the suggests VikramTheGreat but unfortunately there is no Network Setup option showing on the display panel. The only options I showing under Settings are:

Preferences

Quiet Mode

Tools

Accessibility

Power Management

Bluetooth Low Energy

I have gone through all of these options and do not see any Network settings.

Hi @Rocky9991,

Thanks for reaching out to HP Support. We understand you're using an HP OfficeJet 8015e printer and are experiencing an issue where the Wi-Fi icon and Network Setup options are missing from the display panel, even after a factory reset.T his behavior typically indicates the printer is no longer in wireless mode or that critical network services are disabled on the device.

Here's what you can do to troubleshoot and restore wireless connectivity:

Step-by-Step: Restore Wireless Network Setup on OfficeJet 8015e

Option 1: Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode Manually

  1. Power on the printer and wait until it's idle.
  2. Press and hold the Wireless button (or Wi-Fi button) on the printer and the Cancel (X) button at the same time for 5 seconds, then release.

This should restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode, making the Wi-Fi icon reappear and allowing you to reconfigure the network.

Option 2: Use the HP Smart App to Set Up Wireless

  1. On your Windows, macOS, iOS, or Android device, open the HP Smart app.
  2. Tap “+ Add Printer” and follow the prompts.
  3. If the printer is in Wi-Fi Setup Mode, the app should detect it and walk you through the reconnection process.
  4. If not detected:
    • Use the “Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode” as described above and try again.

Option 3: Connect Using USB Temporarily

If the Wi-Fi Setup Mode cannot be restored:

  1. Connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable.
  2. Open the HP Smart app.
  3. Select “Set up a new printer”, then choose the USB-connected printer.
  4. Follow the prompts to move the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
  5. After setup, disconnect the USB cable.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Option 1 is not possible as there is no Wireless Button or cancel button on this printer. There is only a Power On/Off button.

Option 2 is not possible as the printer does not seem to be in WIFI mode since the WIFI light is not on and the HP Smart app does not detect the printer.

Option 3 - When I connected the printer via the USB cable the HP smart app does detect it. I initiated the Web Services setup, the message "Web Services Setup in Progress" comes up but the following message on the printer comes up "Setup Incomplete. Finish printer setup to enable printing. This printer requires use of an HP account, enabled web services and internet connection for setup and use."

I am not sure what to do from here. Thanks in advance for looking into this issue.
