@Art1953, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Resolving Printer Offline Issue for HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 Series!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 series printer is showing an offline status after a Windows update, follow these troubleshooting steps to try and resolve the issue:

Step 1: Restart Devices

  1. Restart the printer: Turn off your HP printer and unplug it for at least 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  2. Restart the computer: Restart your computer to ensure any recent system changes from the Windows update are fully applied.

Step 2: Check Printer Connection

Check Network Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
  • For a Wi-Fi connection, make sure the printer is connected to the Wi-Fi network. If using an Ethernet cable, ensure it is properly connected to both the printer and the router.

Printer Control Panel:

  • On the printer, go to the “Network” or “Wireless Settings” menu to confirm that it is connected to the network.

Step 3: Use HP Print and Scan Doctor

  1. Download and Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:
    • Download the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool.
    • Install and run the tool. Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix the printer offline issue.

Step 4: Set Printer as Default

  1. Set your printer as the default:
    • Go to the “Control Panel” on your computer.
    • Select “Devices and Printers.”
    • Right-click on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 series printer and select “Set as default printer.”

Step 5: Clear Print Queue

  1. Clear any pending print jobs:
    • In the “Devices and Printers” section of the Control Panel, right-click your printer and select “See what’s printing.”
    • Cancel all print jobs.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

I tried all the suggestions after finding them online. Unfortunately, none of them "fixed" the issue. I use a VPN as an extra security step for consulting work. I paused the VPN for 60 minutes and that cleared the problem. FYI, I suspected the VPN as I've had an issue with it in the past, especially scanning to the all-in-one HP device.

Thanks for the assist.
