My officejet Pro 8620 suddenly will not connect to the internet. It is a 2015 model and I'm wondering if it is being shut down because it's outdated and not supported anymore. It prints fine and I have lots of ink and I really don't want to put it in the landfill. Can this be fixed?  I have gone through all the basic remedies... unplug etc.

Hi @KJonBunker,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I understand that you are having issues with the connectivity.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 is suddenly not connecting to the internet but is still able to print, there are several troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue. While the model is from 2015, it should still be supported, and you can usually fix connectivity issues with a few adjustments. Here’s a comprehensive approach to addressing the issue:

1. Check Network Settings:

Verify Wi-Fi Connection:

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Settings.
  • Make sure the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. If not, reconnect it to your network.

Print Network Configuration Report:

  • This report will provide information about the printer's current network settings and IP address. You can usually find this report under Network Setup > Print Network Configuration Report.

2. Restart Devices:

Restart Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Restart Router:

  • Power off your router, wait for about 30 seconds and then power it back on.

Restart Computer/Device:

  • Reboot the computer or device you are using to connect to the printer.

3. Reconnect Printer to Network:

  • Reconfigure Wireless Setup:
    • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Setup Wizard.
    • Follow the prompts to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

4. Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check for Firmware Updates:
    • Visit the HP Support website and search for your printer model.
    • Download and install any available firmware updates for the OfficeJet Pro 8620.

5. Verify Network Settings on Your Computer:

Check Printer Settings:

  • On your computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers (Windows) or System Preferences > Printers & Scanners (Mac).
  • Ensure that your printer is listed and set as the default printer.

Re-add the Printer:

  • If necessary, remove the printer from your computer and re-add it using the printer’s IP address from the Network Configuration Report.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @KJonBunker,

Please find the remaining steps below.

6. Reset Network Settings on Printer:

  • Reset Wireless Settings:
    • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings.
    • Reconnect to your Wi-Fi network after the reset.

7. Check for Interference:

  • Ensure No Interference:
    • Make sure there are no physical obstructions or electronic devices causing interference between your router and the printer.

8. Test with Another Device:

  • Try Another Device:
    • Attempt to connect to the printer using another device (e.g., another computer or smartphone) to determine if the issue is specific to one device.

9. Verify IP Address Conflict:

  • Check for IP Conflicts:
    • Ensure that the printer’s IP address is not conflict with other devices on your network. If needed, assign a static IP address through your router’s settings.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
