HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer - N911a

Old wifi router died abruptly. Trying to get my old printer connected. During setup it finds the new wireless network but keeps telling me invalid password WPA.  I've already set up a couple of other things on the new network and I'm sure of the password. New router is set up for WPA2 -personal.

The HP Network Configuration Page shows my new network by name and auth of WPA-PSK.
I've tried going through the support pages. One thing they keep telling me to do is a reset that doesn't show up on my menus. But otherwise the setup seems pretty straightforward.

Hi @esther73,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

It sounds like you're having trouble connecting your HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer to your new Wi-Fi network. Since you're sure of the password and the network settings seem correct, let's try a few troubleshooting steps:

Forget the Wi-Fi Network: On the printer, go to the wireless settings menu, select your new network, and choose "Forget" or "Remove" to clear the network settings.

Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.

Reconnect to the Wi-Fi Network: Go back to the wireless settings menu on your printer, select your new network, and enter the password again.

Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure your printer has the latest firmware. You can usually check for updates through the printer's settings menu.

Restart Your Router: Sometimes, restarting your router can resolve connectivity issues.

If none of these steps work, you may need to perform a semi-full reset on your printer. This involves pressing a sequence of buttons on the printer's control panel.

The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instructions to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
