Every time I downoload an update for my printer, it goes offline and I have to uninstall & reinstall the printer.  What can I do to prevent this other than never downlaiding the update?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's restore the network settings on the Printer: 1. From the Home screen, touch (Wireless) and then touch ( Settings ). 2. Touch Restore Network Settings, and then follow the onscreen instructions.

Once done, connect the Printer back to the Wi-Fi: 1. On the printer control panel display, from the Home screen, touch ( Wireless ). 2. Touch ( Settings ). 3. Touch Wireless Setup Wizard. 4. Follow the display instructions to complete the setup.

Let me know if this helps.

I guess I didn't word my question properly. I know how to get my printer back online once it's offline. The problem is that every time I install a firmware update, the printer goes offline and I don't realize it until I go to print something then have to jump through all these hoops in order to get it back online. I guess my question really is is there a way to prevent this from happening in the first place. Perhaps on YOUR end.

I did understand. You can try the steps given and check if the issue occurs again.
