Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We have a Office jet 8710 which was working fine on our old router and ISP.  We just got a new one, and it no longer will print via wifi, though we have been able to use HP Smart to "talk" to it and scan, via wifi router.

We can print via cable, but this is not a good solution long term.

The printer is successfully connected onto the new router, and Direct wifi (whatever that is) is turned on, but the printer won't acknowledge the password (PIN) that is listed on the WiFi Direct Configuration page that I printed out.  It is still the default one as far as I know.

Is Wifi Direct different from wifi via router?

Any other ideas??

Welcome to the HP support community.

Yes, WiFi direct and local router WiFI is different.

You can use Wi-Fi Direct when a local wireless network is unavailable.

Refer to this HP document for the steps to connect the printer to the printer's WiFi Direct:- Click here

Let me know how it goes.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
