I bought an HP DeskJet Plus 4155 a few years ago at the advice of the IT department at work. I work from home and do not print much, maybe 5 pages a month. I hate that you have to use an app to connect to the network. I hate that you can't see the jobs in queue even with the app. But the thing that bothers me most is that when I need to print, I have to set the printer up from scratch. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. It's frustrating to no end. It never fails that it cannot connect to wifi when I need to print. I connect to the HP Setup wifi network and it works for about 3 seconds before it tells me it cannot connect to the internet. However, in the app, it says the printer is ready and available. I have restarted everything and it never changes. I have tried printing from the document, from the app, from my phone, from my laptop, from my desktop...it works for 1 page and then will not work for the rest of the day. I don't understand why, no matter what I do, it never works. And there is no one that I can talk to for help, no live agents. The steps that the troubleshooter tells me to take are impossible because they refer to a menu or icon that does not exist. So my only resource is posting a question and waiting for someone to answer. How do I connect and stay connected long enough to print more than one page? When I connect to the HP Setup Wifi network, it loses internet connection. I have tried the Forget Network option but it doesn't help. I have restarted the printer and it doesn't help. It will not connect to my Wifi network.

Hi @eitak123,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds incredibly frustrating dealing with your HP DeskJet Plus 4155 printer connectivity issues. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the problem.

  • Ensure Firmware is Updated: Sometimes, firmware updates can address connectivity issues. Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer through the HP Smart app or HP Support website.
  • Check WiFi Signal: Ensure that your printer is within the range of your WiFi router and there are no obstructions. Weak WiFi signals can cause intermittent connectivity problems.
  • Restart Router and Printer: Try restarting both your WiFi router and the printer. Sometimes, a simple reboot can resolve connectivity issues.
  • Reset Network Settings: You mentioned trying the Forget Network option, but if that didn't work, try resetting the network settings on your printer. This usually involves pressing and holding the Wireless button or the Cancel button for 5 seconds until the Power light starts to blink.
  • Reconfigure WiFi Setup: Use the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel to reconnect the printer to your WiFi network. Make sure to enter the correct WiFi credentials.
  • Check for Interference: Nearby electronic devices, metal objects, and even other WiFi networks can interfere with your printer's WiFi connection. Try moving the printer closer to the WiFi router and away from potential sources of interference.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date on all devices from which you're trying to print (phone, laptop, desktop).

I hope these suggestions help resolve your connectivity issues so you can print more reliably.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hello Alden4,

Thank you for your reply. I tried all of your recommendations before I posted. My printer is literally touching my router and modem so it couldn't get closer. I have exceptional WiFi speeds and have no problems with connectivity on any of my other devices. There should be no interference, like I said, it is touching the router and modem. Sometimes being too close is a problem, so I have tried moving them 5-10 feet away. It doesn't appear to make a difference. There are no walls or other devices in between. Drivers and firmware are updated on everything I've tried using. I reset the settings on my router prior to posting. All that did was take extra time setting the printer back up. I did reconfigure the WiFi setup, I have to do this every time I set up the printer or it doesn't connect to the network. But even then, it doesn't stay connected. It works for maybe 10 seconds on average. Once I got it to connect for almost 30 seconds. But it took forever to receive the print job and nothing ever printed before it lost connection. Once I get it to connection and it loses connection, I cannot reconnect, it just has the spinning wheel like it's thinking but nothing ever happens and then it times out. I have to uninstall and reinstall the printer and start over. But it is just a vicious cycle and the same thing happens every time. I have had it for a few years, but I barely print anything. So I might have printed 50 pages total since I bought it. I'm still on the original ink cartridges, that is how little I have been able to use this printer.
