printer offline no matter what. Can't locate the printer settings to be able to change the wifi connection (it'll tell me that it's offline and which wifi isn't working, but there's no option to actually do anything about it). WIFI for the printer is connected but no internet from laptop. Even got a printer cable to directly connect to laptop and it still won't register as online. Virtual Assistant is lost and doesn't know right from left. "Diagnose & Fix" feature doesn't diagnose - it just says that it doesn't know what's wrong.
everything is taking me in circles and all i want to do is adjust the wifi settings. why is that so hard.

Hi @Nimbus2,
Thanks for sharing product details.
It sounds like you’re in the middle of a very frustrating loop, and I get it—it’s maddening when all you want to do is something that seems so simple, like adjusting your Wi-Fi settings, but you keep hitting dead ends. I can imagine the sinking feeling of nothing working, even with a direct connection. Let's slow down and try to get you out of this tech maze step by step:
Reset Printer Wi-Fi Settings: Sometimes the printer needs a fresh start with your network, and resetting the Wi-Fi connection can help.
- On your HP DeskJet 3755, press the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for 5 seconds until the Wireless light starts blinking. This will reset your Wi-Fi settings.
- Then, open the HP Smart app and follow the prompts to Add Printer and reconnect it to your current Wi-Fi network.
Forget and Reconnect Printer on Laptop: Your laptop might still be holding onto the old Wi-Fi connection, so it’s best to make it “forget” the printer and try again.
- Go to Devices and Printers (on Windows) or Printers & Scanners (on macOS) and remove the HP DeskJet 3755.
- Once removed, restart both your printer and laptop. After restarting, open the HP Smart app again and re-add the printer by following the setup steps.
Disable Offline Mode: If your printer is showing as offline even when it’s connected, it might be stuck in an offline mode.
- Open the Control Panel on your computer, go to Devices and Printers, right-click on your HP DeskJet 3755, and select See what's printing.
- In the new window, click Printer in the top menu and uncheck Use Printer Offline if it’s selected.
Direct USB Connection Fix: Since you’ve tried a USB cable but it still won’t go online, this might be a driver issue.
- Disconnect the USB cable, uninstall the printer from your computer, and restart your laptop.
- Reinstall the printer with the USB cable connected and let your laptop download any necessary drivers automatically.
