I have just moved house and now my HP Colour LaserJetScreenshot 2023-07-06 at 07.02.44.png Pro MFPM281fdw is asking for a username and password to get into the menu. I don't know this. Is there any way to reset the whole printer without going into the menu?

Welcome to the HP support community.

 

I understand that you want to reset the EWS password, I am glad to assist you.

 

Resetting the printer's network settings to its factory default settings erases the embedded Web server (EWS) administrator password.

  • From the Home screen on the printer control panel, swipe until the Setup menu displays. 
  • Touch the Setup icon to open the menu. 
  • Scroll to and select the Service menu. 
  • Scroll to and select Restore Defaults, and then touch OK.

Login to the EWS page with the default credentials and change the password.

Username: admin

Password: "leave it blank"
