I have an HP Chromebook x360 and an HP Deskjet 2755e. I can not connect the two and can not print from the chromebook. When I use the HP Smart application the status says "Unavailable"

Hi @Spencer718

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your HP DeskJet 2755e isn’t properly connecting to your HP Chromebook x360, which can be frustrating. Here are some HP-based troubleshooting steps that might help:

Step 1: Restart Everything

  • Turn off your Chromebook, printer, and Wi-Fi router.
  • Wait for 30 seconds, then turn them back on.

Step 2: Check Wi-Fi Connection

  • Ensure your printer and Chromebook are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • If your printer has a Wi-Fi button, press and hold it until the Wi-Fi light blinks, then reconnect.

Step 3: Reconnect the Printer on Chromebook

  1. On your Chromebook, go to Settings > Advanced > Printing > Printers.
  2. If your printer is listed, click the three-dot menu next to it and remove it.
  3. Click Add Printer and select your HP DeskJet 2755e.
  4. If prompted, select HP as the manufacturer and choose the appropriate driver.

Step 4: Use HP Smart App (Recommended)

  • Install the HP Smart App from the Google Play Store on your Chromebook.
  • Open the app and follow the instructions to add and reconnect your printer.

Step 5: Reset the Printer’s Network

  • Press and hold the Wi-Fi and Cancel (X) button on the printer for 5 seconds until the Wi-Fi light blinks.
  • Reconnect the printer to Wi-Fi using HP Smart or WPS setup.

Step 6: Check for Updates

  • Make sure your Chromebook OS and printer firmware are updated.
  • Go to Settings > About Chrome OS and update if needed.

Try these steps and let me know if the issue persists! We’ll get this sorted.
