Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

Hello. I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what's wrong with my printer. It keeps disconnecting even though it's always powered on, WiFi is connected (and signal is fine), and wireless is on. Used to be able to send a print job anytime. Seems like since the new HP app was released, every time I go to print it's "not connected" which makes no sense.

This is extremely frustrating! I've already sunk a lot of time into trying to find an answer and following steps with no luck. For instance, the Web Services Diagnostic printout says I need to set up auto-updates and provides a URL that doesn't work (http://hpc85acf258362.local.) and I've tried modifying it to https and / at the end. Just get the browser message saying it can't be found.

The virtual assistant is useless and no one's around at support for me to communicate with. My schedule is the complete opposite of most people. I'm ready to lose it and never buy another HP printer again! Can someone please help?

Have physical disabilities that prevent me from getting up from where I am at times. It's one of the main reasons why I got a wireless printer. Have only had the printer for 3 or 4 years. It's not that old. It used to work great and I see no reason why it shouldn't still be working the same.

Thank you!

Hello, Garp_Senchau. Appreciate your reply. My apologies for missing that info. Thought it was included. Have a DeskJet 3755 all-in-one (see screenshot below). Right now it says it's asleep but when I posted the issue here it was disconnected for the umpteenth time. Showed as disconnected yesterday too. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Here's another screenshot. This shows the printer as not connected yet again.

Hi @JoylessPrinter,

Thanks for sharing the model. I understand your DeskJet 3755 keeps disconnecting even though it used to stay connected reliably. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Restart the Printer’s Wireless Connection
On the printer, press the Wireless button once to open the wireless menu.
Turn wireless off and back on, then wait 30 seconds for it to reconnect.

Reconnect Using Wi-Fi Setup Mode
Hold the Wireless + Cancel buttons together for 3 seconds.
This puts the printer into setup mode so your phone or computer can re-establish a fresh connection.

Check Router Settings (Important for New HP App)
Make sure your printer is connected to the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (the 3755 doesn’t support 5 GHz).
Also ensure that “Isolation Mode” or “Guest Mode” is not enabled on the router, as these block devices from talking to each other.

Assign a Static IP to Prevent Disconnects
Open your router page → find your printer → set it to “Static” or “DHCP Reservation.”
This stops the printer from dropping offline when the router changes IP addresses.

Update Web Services / Firmware Manually
Since the URL isn’t loading, print the Network Configuration Page, then use the printer’s actual IP address (example: 192.168.x.x).
Open that address in a browser and check for updates under the Tools or Web Services tab.

Reset the Print Environment on Your Devices
Remove the printer from your phone/computer and add it again using the HP Smart app.
This forces the app to resync with the printer’s new connection state.

I hope this helps.
