HP ENVY Inspire 7955e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My printer was working fine until it decided it didn't want to work.  I've tried everything and my Wi-Fi Network Test Results congratulated me on the successful setup of my wi-fi printer.  And my Printer Status Report says the Network Status says it's ready; but, I cannot get the printer to print anything from my computer.

Click here for network setup using HP Smart but in a different language

You may need to reset the printer: instructions here

WiFi setup to router: video here

For WiFi direct setup click here.
This is useful if there is no modem or you do not want to give someone access to your modem but you want to let them print something.

The 7955e can operate in either the 2.4 or 5ghz. If went to sleep in the 2.4ghz band and woke up and was assigned the 5ghz band then it got a different IP address and your PCs need to search for it to find it. If this is the problem then you need to assign a different name to the 2.4ghz band so the printer only uses that band after a power loss or after waking up.

Simple push button or WPS setup is an option in the router setup wizard

If you a have a flex system (wifi boosters or repeaters) then additional setup is needed

Thank you....I appreciate your suggestion.  I won't be home until tomorrow to see if it fixes my frustrating problem.  I'll update you afterwards!

Hi, I've tried everything multiple times. The big issue now is the instructions keep saying I need to turn my computer on.  It IS on and the blue light is solid on the printer; but, I still can't get anything to print from my computer.  So, I'm still very frustrated.  I have no idea why it quit working to begin with...was doing fine until two days ago.  Please help me.  Thanks!

Get a status and a network report as described on page 62 of the users manual

Use the control panel to print the reports

look for a problem

see if you can spot the IP4 address and the host name of the printer. For example

Get a printer network report. The PINs and Passwords should show up. Here is the important stuff from a typical printer report. The password shown in WiFi can be the printers PIN or the modem's password depending on how you connected to the modem. The printer can have two bands but the only one that is connected will show up.

LANSTATUSIP addressSSIDPassword
WiFienabled192.168.1.15ATT-ARRIS-2 .4GuessAgain
WiFi-directenabled192.168.23.1DIRECT-WHATEVERBadGuess
Wireddisabled
USBdisabled

I assume you wan the printer connected to the modem or router

If so, both your PC and the Printer would be on the same subnet

192.168.1.xxx

Some printers do not show the password or show ***** instead.
