Hi @t_thomas8 ,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're encountering issues with your HP OfficeJet 5255 All-In-One Printer after deleting and rediscovering it, you can try the following steps to resolve the problem:

Check Connection:

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network.
  • If it's a wireless printer, make sure it is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both your computer and the printer. Sometimes, a simple reboot can resolve connectivity issues.

Printer Troubleshooter:

  • Use the built-in printer troubleshooter on your computer to identify and fix common printing problems. This feature is available in both Windows and macOS.

Update Drivers:

  • Make sure that you have the latest drivers installed for your printer. Visit the official HP website, locate your printer model, and download the latest drivers.

HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • HP provides a tool called "HP Print and Scan Doctor" that can automatically diagnose and resolve printing problems. Download and run this tool from the official HP website.

Check for Software Updates:

  • Ensure that your printer firmware is up-to-date. Check the HP support website for any available firmware updates for your printer model.

Reinstall Printer:

  • Uninstall the printer software from your computer, restart the computer, and then reinstall the printer using the latest drivers from the HP website.

Check for Paper Jams or Hardware Issues:

  • Make sure there are no paper jams or other hardware issues with the printer. Check the printer's display or status lights for any error messages.

Printer Status:

  • Open the printer software on your computer and check the printer status. Look for any error messages or notifications that may indicate the source of the problem.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
