Hi @Kal42,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating when technology doesn't work as expected! Let’s troubleshoot why your Kal42 printer is showing offline with flashing lights. Here’s what you can try:

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it's a wireless printer, verify that it's connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. If it's wired, make sure the cable is securely plugged in at both ends.

Check Printer Status:

  • Flashing lights on a printer usually indicate specific issues. Since you mentioned both blue and red lights are flashing, consult the printer's manual for what these specific colors and patterns mean. This could indicate issues such as paper jams, low ink, or connectivity problems.

Printer Driver:

  • Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can cause the printer to appear offline. Visit the manufacturer’s website, find the support section, and download the latest drivers for your Kal42 printer model.

Set as Default Printer:

  • Ensure your printer is set as the default. Go to your computer’s settings:
    • Windows: Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners. Select your printer, then choose "Manage" and "Set as default."
    • Mac: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners. Select your printer, then click "Open Print Queue" and check if it's set as the default printer.

Clear the Print Queue:

  • Sometimes, stuck print jobs can cause the printer to go offline. Clear the print queue:
    • Windows: Open the print queue as mentioned above, and clear all jobs.
    • Mac: Open the list of print jobs as mentioned and delete them.

Network Troubleshooting:

  • If the printer is networked, restarting your router might help. Additionally, try connecting your printer to the network again by using the printer's built-in menu (refer to your printer's manual on how to do this).

Direct Connection Test:

  • If possible, try connecting your printer directly to your computer using a USB cable to determine if the issue is network-related.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
