Operating system is Mac OS Sonoma, not an option from the dropdown list.
Several times a day and night, the printer makes a noise like it is starting up/ going to print something but no one is sending anything to it.
How do I stop that other than turning it off completely? It's very annoying!
I have tried unplugging and replugging it in several times; I also tried updating the firmware, but receive an error message.

Hi @psax78 ,
Thank you for your reply
I understand your printer might be experiencing some sort of internal issue causing it to initialize or attempt to print without any commands. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
- Check for Jammed Paper or Obstructions: Open the printer and check for any jammed paper or obstructions that might be triggering the printer to try to print.
- Reset the Printer: Try resetting the printer to its default settings. You can usually do this by accessing the printer's settings menu. Refer to the printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.
- Update Printer Drivers: Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your Mac. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause issues with the printer's functionality. You can usually download the latest drivers from the HP website. HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer Drivers
- Check for Firmware Updates: Despite the error message you received, continue trying to update the firmware.Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Disable Wireless Connectivity: If your printer is connected to your network wirelessly, try disabling the wireless connectivity temporarily to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is related to network communication.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
