Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

I am trying to connect my Envy 6455e to my Chromebook. When setting up using the hp app, it just keeps searching for the printer without finding it. Chromebook is connected to the WiFi network and printer is in setup mode. I have tried rebooting Chromebook, printer and router to no avail. Any help is appreciated as this is for business.

Hi @Mosnell,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're having trouble finding your Envy 6455e printer in the HP app, there are a few things you can try.

  • Make sure your printer is turned on and connected to your Wi-Fi network. If it's not, the app won't be able to find it.
  • Check that your smartphone or tablet is also connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your printer. If they're on different networks, the app won't be able to detect the printer.
  • Try restarting both your printer and your smartphone or tablet. This can sometimes help to reset any connection issues.
  • If you've recently changed your Wi-Fi network name or password, you may need to reconnect your printer to the new network. To do this, go to the printer's control panel and look for the wireless setup wizard or network settings option.
  • If none of these solutions work, you may need to reinstall the HP app on your smartphone or tablet. Make sure you have the latest version of the app installed, and then try setting up your printer again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
