Printer Connectivity Issue After WiFi Change
Dear HP Support,
I have two HP printers that were both functioning well until I recently updated my WiFi. Now, one printer is not found, and the other is showing as offline.

Could you please assist with troubleshooting these issues? I’d appreciate any guidance to get both printers back online.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,
Iluvpink

Hi @Iluvpink

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like the recent Wi-Fi change has affected the connectivity of your printers. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot and resolve the issues:

1. Reconnect the Printers to the New Wi-Fi Network

For both printers, follow these steps to reconnect them to your new Wi-Fi:

Using the Printer Control Panel:

  • Access the Wireless Setup Wizard: Go to the printer's control panel and find the Settings or Network menu.
  • Select Wireless Setup Wizard: This will scan for available networks.
  • Choose Your New Wi-Fi Network: Select your new network and enter the password if prompted.

Using WPS (if supported):

  • If your router supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), press the WPS button on your router, then press the WPS button on the printer within 2 minutes to connect.

2. Update Printer Drivers on Your Computer

  • Ensure your computer has the latest drivers installed for both printers. You can download the latest drivers from the HP Support website.

3. Check Printer Status on Your Computer

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners on your computer.
  • Remove any instances of the printers that show as offline or are not listed.
  • Click Add a printer or scanner and see if your printers appear.

4. Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor, which can help diagnose and fix connectivity issues automatically.

5. Restart Your Devices

  • Restart both your printers and your router to refresh their connections.
  • After rebooting the router, give the printers a moment to reconnect to the network.

6. Check Firewall/Antivirus Settings

  • Sometimes, security software can block printer connections. Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus software and see if the printers become available.

7. Test Printing from Different Devices

  • If you have other devices (like another computer or a mobile device), try to see if they can detect the printers to rule out any issues with your main device.

8. Consult Printer Manuals

  • For any specific settings or issues, refer to the user manuals for each printer. You may find specific troubleshooting steps related to network connectivity.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
