I cannot get my printer to show up in HP account for web printing. IT just says 0 Devices owned. But on the actual HP website it shows my printer under my devices. The support system is just a loop that doesn't work.
In the HP Smart app Home Screen I can see the printer, but if I click on account it shows 0 Owned.

Hi @sambowks,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
To resolve the issue of your HP Color Laser MFP 179fnw not showing up in your HP account for web printing, follow these steps:
1. Ensure Your Printer is Connected to the Network:
- Check Network Connection: Make sure your printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network.
- Print Network Configuration Page: Print a network configuration page from the printer's control panel to confirm the connection details.
2. Register Your Printer with HP:
- Use the HP Smart App: Download and install the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer. This app can help you set up and register your printer.
- Open the HP Smart app and add your printer by following the on-screen instructions.
- Once the printer is added, you should be able to register it to your HP account.
3. Check HP Connected Account:
- Sign In to HP Connected: Go to the HP Connected website and sign in with your HP account credentials.
- Add a New Device:
- Navigate to the "Devices" section.
- Select "Add a Printer" and follow the on-screen instructions to add your HP Color Laser MFP 179fnw.
4. Ensure Printer Firmware is Up-to-Date:
- Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. You can usually do this through the printer's control panel or the HP Smart app.
5.Check HP Web Services:
- Enable Web Services:
- On your printer's control panel, navigate to the network settings and find the option to enable Web Services.
- Follow the prompts to enable Web Services and get a claim code.
- Register the Claim Code:
- Go back to the HP Connected website and use the claim code to add your printer to your HP account.
6. Troubleshooting Common Issues:
- Reset Network Settings: If your printer still doesn't show up, try resetting its network settings and reconnecting it to the Wi-Fi network.
- Reinstall Printer Drivers: Uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers on your computer.
