Microsoft Windows 11

My HP 2700 Series Printer has been offline for a few days now. I have reset the printer & reset my Wi-Fi plenty of times trying to reconnect, with no change. I eventually uninstalled my printer & now both Windows & the HP Smart app will not allow me to reinstall it. Below is a screenshot of the messages i get at every attempt on the app & Windows 11.

Hi @Juliette77 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are encountering some issues with your HP 2700 Series Printer being offline and not being able to reinstall it.

Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

  • Check Printer Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer and the power source. Double-check the cables and connections to make sure everything is secure.
  • Restart Devices: Restart both your computer and the printer. Sometimes a simple reboot can resolve connectivity issues.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve compatibility issues and improve performance. Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Check Wi-Fi Connection: Make sure your Wi-Fi network is functioning properly and that the printer is connected to the correct network. You may need to re-enter the Wi-Fi password on the printer to reconnect it.
  • Printer Settings: Access the printer settings from the control panel of the printer itself. Ensure that the printer is set to online mode and not in offline mode.
  • HP Print and Scan Doctor: Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP website. This tool can help diagnose and resolve common printing problems automatically.
  • Reinstall Printer Drivers: Completely uninstall the printer drivers from your computer and then reinstall them. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website.
  • Check Firewall/Antivirus Settings: Sometimes firewall or antivirus settings can interfere with the printer connection. Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus software and see if the printer reconnects.
  • Try a Different USB Port or Cable: If you're using a USB connection, try using a different USB port on your computer or a different USB cable to rule out any issues with the connection.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
