HP DeskJet 2734e All-in-One Printer

I just received a new modem and I no longer need a router. My printer is showing off line and I don't know how to get it back online so I can print.

Hi @Ethel_Dillon,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To get your HP DeskJet 2734e All-in-One Printer back online after switching to a new modem, try these steps.

Reconnect the Printer to Wi-Fi:

  • Make sure your printer is connected to the new modem's Wi-Fi network. Since the router is no longer in use, the printer needs to connect directly to the new modem if possible.
  • On the printer, press the Wireless button (or the Wi-Fi icon on the display).
  • If needed, go to the Network Settings or Wireless Setup Wizard to search for and select your new Wi-Fi network.
  • Enter the Wi-Fi password if prompted.

Restart Printer and Modem:

  • Turn off your printer, wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Also, restart your modem to ensure it's properly functioning with all devices.

Check the Printer's Status:

  • On your computer, open the Devices and Printers window.
  • Right-click on the HP DeskJet 2734e icon and select See what's printing.
  • Check if the printer is set to Offline. If so, right-click the printer and select Use Printer Online.

Reinstall Printer Software (if needed):

  • If the printer still isn't showing as online, try reinstalling the printer drivers.
  • Go to the HP support website and search for your printer model to download the latest software and drivers.

This should resolve the issue of your printer going offline after the modem change.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
