Hi @Meems16,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When opening the lid of the HP Envy 6065e printer, it should not require significant force. Follow these steps to ensure you're opening it correctly.

Locate the correct handle area:

  • On the HP Envy 6065e, there is typically a recessed area or small handle under the scanner lid. Gently grip this area.

Lift gently but firmly:

  • Lift the scanner lid from the handle area, and the ink access area underneath should also begin to lift. It might feel slightly stiff initially if it's new, but it should open without excessive force.

Check for packing materials:

  • New printers often have tape, foam, or cardboard inside to protect the components during shipping. Ensure all visible tape or shipping material is removed.

Use two hands if necessary:

  • If it feels stiff, use both hands to lift evenly from the sides of the lid. This can help prevent uneven pressure or potential damage.

Do not force it:

  • If the lid does not budge with moderate pressure, check the manual to confirm the correct method for your model. Forcing it could cause damage.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
