Hi. I have a similar problem; the HP Smart software start to set-up the printer, but sais that is not possible at the moment, suggesting to try another method.

Photosmart d110

Installed new wireless router, printer will not accept new passcode.  Tried reinstalling from disk, computer cannot communication with printer although printer is recognized
