Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.
HP Recommended

I am having issues with both the HP printer app not finding the WIFI signal, or my printer, and not recognizing my serial number for my HP Deskjet 3050 All-In-One Printer - J610a.

My router doesn't have a button for pairing.

I have tried to connect the printer through a USB connection on both my computer and the router.

I go through this every time my printer loses the WIFI connection.  The printer is unable to connect and the computer and the cell phone are not able to pair with the printer.

Hi @Cliff_32,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP Deskjet 3050 All-In-One Printer - J610a isn't connecting to your new router. You can follow these steps to reconnect and set it up on your wireless network:

Reset Wireless Settings on Printer:

  • Turn on the printer.
  • Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button at the same time, and hold them for 10-15 seconds. This will reset the network settings.

Install the HP Full Feature Software:

  • Go to https://support.hp.com/us-en and download the full feature software and drivers for your printer model.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software, which should help you set up the wireless connection.

Use the HP Setup Wizard via Printer Control Panel:

  • Go to the printer’s control panel, find and select the Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Follow the instructions to connect to the wireless network by entering the network name (SSID) and password.

Manually Enter the Network Settings:

  • If the setup wizard does not work, use the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) to manually configure the network settings.
  • Connect the printer to your computer via USB, and print a Network Configuration Page to find the IP address of the printer.
  • Open a web browser, type the IP address into the address bar, and press Enter.
  • Navigate to the Network tab, and enter the router's SSID and password manually.

Check Your Router Settings:

  • Ensure that the router supports the printer's wireless protocol. Some newer routers default to WPA3, which might not be compatible with older printer models like the Deskjet 3050.
  • Enable a mixed mode that includes WPA/WPA2.

Troubleshooting Tips:

  • Make sure both the printer and computer are close to the router to ensure a strong signal.
  • Restart the router and printer to clear any temporary issues.
  • Verify that no firewall on your computer or network blocks communication with the printer.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I have been trying to scan several pages of a document. I was able to scan the first page of 13 pages. When I scan the second page the scan will not transfer so I can add it.

Also, the HP site is not responding. I try to click on the down arrows and they are non-responsive.

All of this makes for a much longer day when things don't work as purported.

Hello.

I am sorry, I am not clear where you are performing these actions.  Are you doing this from the printer, on a cell phone using the HP Service Plug, or the computer?

Again, I am connected to the 2.4G but the printer is not able to see the faster connection on 5G.

Thanking you in advance.

Hi @Cliff_32,

Thank you for sharing the details.

Thank you for clarifying. The HP Deskjet 3050 can only connect to 2.4GHz Wi‑Fi, so it won’t detect the 5GHz network. Please try reconnecting through the printer’s wireless setup menu or HP software on your computer while on the 2.4GHz band. Once connected, you should feel the printer respond smoothly again.

Regards
