Server disconnect

my printer now constantly will not connect to the server for scan, HP Printables, anything like that.  I have tried the “shut everything down” with the printer, router, and my iPad.  I do not have a computer  (yes you heard that right) and have changed  nothing in my equipment or done anything with servers or other connections.  My  internet network connection works and the Wireless Network print report from the printer says all is good.

i am 65 years old, mildly computer illiterate, and do nothing other than use my iPad for mail, usual app nonsense, and have no strange stuff (remember, no computer).  My printer was working just fine with scanning, etc.  the only printer thing that happened was an update to the HPeprint app that happened last week or so.

please help me.  I have printed the instructions on how to fix server disconnect problems but have no idea what most of it means and can’t deal with anything complicated or in computerspeak. The only solution left to me is literally offer this printer to the garbage deity and buy a Canon.  Every HP I’ve owned had died after 2 years except this one, unfortunately.

my iOS is up to date 

I would be ever so grateful for your help!
