Common problems for Connectivity Issues

Hello,

I want to add an HP OfficeJet Pro 6230 to a Windows print-server for shared use.
Installing this printer on a personal computer is done with executables that take care of everything, adding software, tools, setting the printer as default, etc... That's fine if you're at home. But that doesn't work on a server in a company environment. There, you need the printer-driver as-is. Nothing more.
All downloads for this printer are programs, but not drivers. I don't want / need Private Print, ePrint or WebApps-stuff. On the server: Add printer, Add driver (Windows server 2019 64-bit)
Where can I find the driver ? Wich one can I use ?

I tried installing the smallest executable on a stand-alone computer, with the printer connected via USB. It installed the Microsoft IPP-driver, but I still couldn't print. Possibly because Print Format was locked to Letter, without possibility to change it. (There's only 3 countries in the world that don't use A4 as a standard) Anyway, using MS-IPP on the server doesn't work either. The printer has an IP-address and I can connect  to it.
Where can I find the driver ?

Regards,
Jan

Extra info: The driver "Generic: Text" produces prints.

The full feature driver for the Pro 6230 can be downloaded below (windows version)

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL54379/bi-131238-2/Full_Webpack-33.3.81-Full_Webpack.exe

You may need to apply a firmware fix to allow the printer to use non-HP cartridges.

Firmware and instructions are here

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-officejet-pro-6230-eprinter-series/5390318

Note: This firmware removes outdated supplies authentication measures that may prevent the printer from working with certain ink supplies that contain non-HP security chips. Please note that even with this change HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-HP supplies

Been there, didn't install it.

I can't run an installation sequence that adds (at least 4) useless programs on a printserver. That's for home users.
That is not a driver I can add to a printserver. Unless you tell me how I can extract it. It's probably in there...
How can I find the driver?

This is a typical Wi-Fi print server and this is one that is ethernet only.

No software is installed on any of the above.

The drivers are installed into the PC's that communicate with the printer.

If the PC or smartphone want to send a PDF to the printer, the printer needs to be native postscript or the ability to convert to HP's pcl-3 or whatever internal code that the 6230 understands.

For example if the iPhone wants to print a document then HP Smart is used to send the document to the printer.  The document needs to be PDF and the printer native PDF

I do not know of any printer servers that are plug and play and many vendors of NAS (such as synology) no longer support print serving for newer printers.
