We have a 750 smart tank which is attached to a computer and next to the internet router. Everyone else is connecting on it with Wifi. However every one or two days it looses it connection to wifi and have to reconfigure it. After the configuration with hp smart it works fine for a day or two and then we have to reset it once again... is there a way to permenantly fix this? to keep the wifi settings stored?!

@GigiGr, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP Smart Tank 750 keeps dropping its Wi-Fi connection every couple of days, and you have to reconfigure it repeatedly. Let’s work on a permanent fix so your printer stays connected reliably.
Update Printer Firmware
Outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues. To ensure your printer is up to date:
- Go to the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
- Enter HP Smart Tank 750 All-in-One and download the latest firmware.
- Install it using the HP Smart App or directly via USB.
Assign a Static IP Address
This prevents the printer from losing its IP when the router reassigns addresses:
- Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer’s control panel.
- Note the current IP address.
- Open a browser and enter that IP to access the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
- Navigate to Network > IPv4 Configuration.
- Choose Manual IP, and enter the current IP, subnet mask, and default gateway.
- Click Apply.
Optimize Wi-Fi Band Selection
Your printer supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands:
- If your router has band steering, try disabling it temporarily to test stability.
- For best range and stability, connect the printer to 2.4 GHz.
- For faster speeds and less interference (if nearby), 5 GHz is fine too.
Reserve IP in Router Settings (Optional but Recommended)
- Log in to your router’s admin page.
- Reserve the printer’s IP address under DHCP Reservation or Static Lease.
- This ensures the printer always gets the same IP from the router.
Disable Auto-Off or Sleep Settings
Sometimes power-saving features can interfere with Wi-Fi:
- On the printer, go to Settings > Power Settings.
- Disable or adjust Auto-Off and Sleep Mode to stay connected longer.
Use HP Smart App for Setup and Monitoring
The HP Smart App helps manage your printer and keeps it connected:
- Reconfigure the printer using the app if needed.
- Monitor connection status and receive alerts.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
