Sudden printing of a page with a capital G in the upper left corner

HP Recommended
OfficeJet Pro 8715
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Whether or not I am connected to the Wi-Fi, every so often my printer will print a page with a capital G in the upper left corner. I'm not sending any job to print. Sometimes the laptop is not booted up and a page will print. What causes this? How can I get it to stop? I have probably half a ream of paper stacked with just a capital G in the upper left corner of each page. What a waste!
