Wifi setup video 6055e might be helpful

The "official' HP setup (no video) is here

You may need to reset the printer and that is shown on page 6

Let me know if still a problem as it may be necessary to get into the modem and make changes.

None of that helped. Phone can't see the printer and the last one just brings me to the app store with nothing relevant to my issue. I dont know if I should call HP(if I could even talk to a human anymore) or my internet carrier. the printer works fine when wired.

Here's a twist! My GF has the same printer. when Im at her place I just pick her printer if I need to print. I noticed a few yrs ago (just bought mine last yr) that her wireless address includes the service name.  my wireless printer que is hp2414fa, Hers says hp316b13.hsd1.nj.comcast.net . I've never seen a wireless connection listed with the carrier in the ID of a wireless connection on a printer. Maybe I need to contact the carier? She has Comcast/xfinity mine is newer verizon fios.  Any thoughts?

If you have a system on a different subnet then that system will need to refer to the printer (or any device) using the name of the modem.  I am no expert on network topography but

I have a modem and its name is attlocal.net which can be found by logging in.

It is 192.168.1.254 and my printer is 192.168.1.120.  There is also a NAS and several systems on 192.168.1

I have a system that is bridged and it is 192.168.2.54.  If you have WiFi booster or a Mesh then same problem.

The system at 192.168.2.54 can reach the other network using  printername.attlocal.net or nas_folder.attlocal.net

If it looked for "printername" the printer would never be found.  However, 192.168.1.120 would have worked regardless.  The problem with using the number is they can change whereas printername.attlocal.net stays the same.

This is not necessary if all the devices are on the same subnet.  if you have a mesh or a bunch of wifi booster then yes you need to use something like attlocal.net.  If you do not have mesh or booster then does not matter since all on the same subnet.

[edit] Just guessing, but hsd1.nj.comcast.net appears to be a mesh network.  If you have multiple wifi units scattered about your location then you have a mesh network and there are different rules for that.  It is not a simple network anymore.  Let me know if you have a mesh system.
